AFI Partners with the White House – American Film Institute

AFI Partners with the White House

AFI is once again collaborating with the White House on the third annual White House Student Film Festival, which will be held in late summer 2016. For a second year, Participant Media, a global entertainment company focused on inspiring social change, joins AFI in support of their work with young filmmakers of the White House Student Film Festival. Open to K-12 student filmmakers, the theme of this year’s festival is “The World I Want to Live In.”

Young storytellers are now encouraged to submit their short films based on this theme at WhiteHouse.Gov/FilmFest.

We received an email from the White House stating that our film was under selection and that my students and I are invited to the White House Student Film Festival after we submit our personal information for security clearance. My principal and department head wants to confirm that this is not a scam. Obviously we submitted to the festival, but how can we confirm that this is an official invite, not a scam to get our personal information? Thanks!
