A coming-of-age story about a young girl who defies tradition – and her family’s wishes – to become a competitive boxer, GIRLFIGHT marked the feature film debut of writer/director Karyn Kusama – who has since shared her experiences with the next generation of filmmakers through seminars at the AFI Conservatory.
