The opening credits for DARBY O’GILL AND THE LITTLE PEOPLE include the following statement, signed with Walt Disney’s signature: “My thanks to King Brian of Knocknasheega and his leprechauns, whose gracious co–operation made this picture possible.” In addition to Disney’s cinematic collaboration with the wee folk, the film also features AFI Life Achievement Award honoree Sean Connery in an early role.
