Movie Trivia about ARRIVAL
–DID YOU KNOW ARRIVAL is based on the 1998 short story “Story of Your Life” by Ted Chiang? The film title was changed because the filmmakers thought it sounded too much like a romantic comedy.
–DID YOU KNOW three linguists from McGill University were hired to help construct the alien language that you see in the film?
–DID YOU KNOW the alien’s spacecraft in the movie was inspired by the shape of a large asteroid known as Eunomi?
–DID YOU KNOW in early versions of the script, the end of the movie had the aliens leaving a form of blueprints to an interstellar ship that would act as an ark of sorts? The ending was changed after Christopher Nolan’s INTERSTELLAR came out in theaters.
–DID YOU KNOW Amy Adams agreed to play Louise Banks within 24 hours of receiving the script?
–DID YOU KNOW that at the time, Paramount paid a record-breaking amount at the Cannes Film Festival to get the rights to distribute ARRIVAL in North America and China.
