In addition to being brought in to score – and create new themes for – STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN (1982) on the heels on Jerry Goldsmith’s stellar work on the first feature, legendary composer James Horner was also a longtime friend of the American Film Institute – scoring thesis projects on behalf of the AFI Conservatory’s Fellows as early as 1978 and through 2012.
