Shot in a cinema verité style that captures the urgency of the counterculture of its times, MEDIUM COOL (1969) marked the feature film directorial debut for famed cinematographer Haskell Wexler – who also shot, wrote and produced the film. A legend whose collaborations included Charles Guggenheim, Mike Nichols, Norman Jewison, John Cassavetes, Francis Ford Coppola, Miloš Forman, Hal Ashby and more, Wexler is the recipient of an AFI Honorary Degree.
