One of the original screen creatures that launched Universal’s enduring series of iconic cinematic monsters, FRANKENSTEIN (1931) appeared on the American Film Institute’s inaugural list of the greatest films of all time, and then again on its lists of the art form’s most heart-pounding thrills. As the titular mad doctor, Colin Clive’s celebratory exclamation of “It’s alive! It’s alive!” also landed among the greatest film quotes.
