Adapted from author Walter Mosley’s novel of the same name, DEVIL IN A BLUE DRESS (1995) follows World War I veteran Ezekiel “Easy” Rawlins as he navigates 1940s Los Angeles – taking work as it comes to him, even when he finds himself in over his head after investigating the disappearance of missing woman played by Jennifer Beals. Directed by AFI Alum Carl Franklin (Class of 1986), the neo-noir stars AFI Life Achievement honoree Denzel Washington and was edited by AFI Alum Carole Kravetz (Class of 1986).
