Originally released theatrically as a “grindhouse” double-feature paired with Robert Rodriguez’s PLANET TERROR and additionally adorned with appropriately gritty fake trailers from directors Eli Roth, Rob Zombie and Edgar Wright, Quentin Tarantino’s DEATH PROOF (2007) plays a loving valentine to the pared-down slasher films that served, in part, as the director’s own film education growing up. Now celebrated as one of the most distinctive cinematic voices of our time, Tarantino is the recipient of an Honorary Degree from the American Film Institute.
