BACK TO THE FUTURE (1985) – AFI Movie Club

Sending 1985 Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) back in time in a collision course with him own parents – including an iconic first meeting with his teenaged father (Crispin Glover) in a 1955 diner – BACK TO THE FUTURE (1985) was named one of the top ten sci-fi films in the art form’s history by the American Film Institute. The beloved contemporary classic was directed by Robert Zemeckis – one of the featured artists in AFI’S MASTER CLASS: THE ART OF COLLABORATION on TCM – and co-written by Neil Canton, who instructed the next generation of artists as the head of the producing discipline at the AFI Conservatory. The film was also executive produced by AFI Life Achievement Award honoree Steven Spielberg and AFI Board of Trustees Chair Kathleen Kennedy.
