A pitch-black comedy about sex, capitalism, ambition and college admissions, RISKY BUSINESS (1983) appears on AFI’s list of cinema’s greatest screen songs – a Bob Seger classic etched into the public consciousness in an instantly iconic moment of suburban teenager Tom Cruise celebrating his weekend emancipation from his parents by stripping down to enjoy some “Old Time Rock & Roll.” Written and directed by Paul Brickman, the film co-stars Rebecca De Mornay and was produced by AFI Alum Jon Avnet (AFI Class of 1972).
