Through their Will & Jada Smith Family Foundation, Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith– a Trustee of the American Film Institute – have been invaluable supporters of AFI’s mission, largely focusing their efforts on AFI’s Directing Workshop for Women, the longest-running program dedicated to supporting women and gender nonbinary narrative directors. Directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, KING RICHARD features cinematography by Robert Elswit (AFI Class of 1977).
