The American Film Institute (AFI) has announced a call for applicants for the second-annual AFI Cinematography Intensive for Women Sponsored by Panavision and RED.  The tuition-free program will delve into the fundamentals of visual storytelling on the AFI Campus in Los Angeles, June 28–July 1, 2019.  The Intensive seeks candidates with prior cinematography experience who demonstrate a passion for visual storytelling, collaboration and critique, and are able to fully commit to a rigorous four-day program.

The AFI Cinematography Intensive for Women, a four-day workshop led by world-class AFI Cinematography faculty and master-level guests, will empower participants to continue pursuing their cinematography career.  Through production workshops, discussions, screenings of the work of pioneering female cinematographers and more, the program seeks to increase the number of women working in cinematography.

Submissions open today, May 10, and the deadline to apply is May 28. Applicants will be notified of status in early June.
