MY FAIR LADY (1964) was adapted from the stage musical of the same name, which was based on the 1914 George Bernard Shaw play “Pygmalian.” The musical debuted on Broadway in March 1956 with Julie Andrews and Rex Harrison cast in the leads, and it went on to receive the 1957 Tony Award for Best Musical.
