Honorees Announced January 2021
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Los Angeles, CA, November 5, 2020 – AFI announced today that submissions for AFI AWARDS 2020 are being accepted at https://www.afi.com/afi-awards-submissions/ now through Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. PST. Recognizing the year’s most outstanding achievements in the art of the moving image, AFI AWARDS is the American Film Institute’s annual stamp of excellence — celebrating works of significance in both film and television. Honorees will be announced on Monday, January 25, 2021, with a celebration to follow on Friday, February 26, 2021. AFI is proud to have Audi return as an Official Sponsor of AFI AWARDS.
AFI AWARDS selections are made through AFI’s unique jury process – in which scholars, artists, critics and AFI Trustees determine the most outstanding achievements of the year. Honorees are selected based on works which advance the art of the moving image, inspire audiences and artists alike, and enhance the rich cultural heritage of America’s art form.
Favored by artists and entertainment executives for its intimacy and collaborative recognition, the annual awards are the only form of national appreciation that honors the creative ensemble as a whole — those in front of and behind the camera.
