Based on the 1920 novel by American author Edith Wharton, THE AGE OF INNOCENCE (1993) was directed by AFI Life Achievement Award honoree Martin Scorsese – who also makes an uncredited cameo in the film as a wedding photographer. The film also features editing by the director’s most frequent collaborator, editor – and AFI Honorary Degree recipient – Thelma Schoonmaker.
