A consortium of international broadcasters have come together to commission and distribute ten feature length documentaries from filmmakers around the globe addressing the idea of democracy. Six pre-selected projects will be pitched to project partners from the BBC, ARTE-France, YLE, Finland, and STEPS International.

There is a culture gap between US filmmakers and their European colleagues. Not only is language a problem, but approach to stories, shooting and editing styles, funding models and resources are vastly different. Producers and broadcasters from the US and the European Union examine the implications for co-production.
