From special events hosts to VIP drivers, ushers to data entry angels, we rely very heavily on the generous and enthusiastic support of our diverse volunteer team. If you are a neighbor, industry pro, student, or film lover - based in the Maryland/DC area - this is your invitation to get involved! Our volunteers are truly the "face" of SILVERDOCS. We seek a wide range of skills and experiences to help run our festival teams:

• CINEMA LOUNGE: Our multi-use conference/lounge/luncheon/interview space.

• FILMMAKERS' CONFERENCE: New for 2004 - a three-day international doc conference.

• HEADQUARTERS SUPPORT: Home to our Call Center, office staff and website.

• HOSPITALITY & GUEST SERVICES: The network of travel coordination, green rooms and activities that support our filmmakers and special guests.

• OUTREACH & MARKETING: The buzz that will help top last year's awesome 10,000-person attendance.

• PARTIES & HAPPY HOURS: This team sets up, staffs and cleans up networking and gala events.

• SPONSORSHIP: Information and support to the businesses that provide vital festival support.

• TECH SUPPORT: We surround our world-class films with state-of-the-art live events, including symposia, Q & A's, and performances.

• THEATER SUPPORT: The ushers, line wranglers and theater captains based on the floor of the newly restored art deco AFI Silver.

• TICKETING & REGISTRATION: The check-in and info table staff who assist our festivalgoers.

• VOLUNTEER OPERATIONS: The team that coordinates and rewards our amazing volunteer staff.

• TRANSPORTATION: We need runners with their own cars, as well as special VIP drivers.

Most of the work happens during SILVERDOCS, June 15 - 20. All positions will require participation in orientation activities the week before the festival. We are especially grateful to volunteers who contribute to Festival Prep in May and early June. We can accommodate day and evening availability.
