STILL DOING IT: THE INTIMATE LIVES OF WOMEN OVER 65

"Nine extraordinary women-partnered, single, straight, gay, black, white, active, and celibate-share seldom-heard views on sex in their 60's, 70's and even 80's. The women may be outspoken for their generation, but they could just mark the beginning of a new collective awareness.

STILL DOING IT reveals that many women are embarking on intense romantic relationships for the first time after age 65. Ellen, 68, and Dolores, 70, found each other just a few years ago and for Ellen, who was in a traditional marriage for most of her life, it was as if she was reborn sexually. Sex expert Betty Dodson, 74, met Eric, 26, on the Internet and avoided at first telling him how old she was. When she let the cat out of the bag, he didn't blink and they've been together ever since.

Archival footage, stills and music show us that women were far more radical about their sexuality in the 1960's and 1970's than they are in these conservative times. The women Fishel profiles aren't necessarily those free-spirited women who burned their bras, they're women who are coming into their own later in life. Each has her own story and Fishel earns their trust and evokes from them very compassionate, surprising and honest viewpoints of growing older. Not your typical "senior" fare, STILL DOING IT is an optimistic and exciting look at something that we're always told is supposed to slip away, but that apparently just gets better with age."
