This madcap, amorally funny biopic dramatizes the life of influential Spanish cartoonist Manuel Vazquez Gallego in 1960s Barcelona. Vazquez artfully dodges anyone he owes money, cheating his bosses and marrying gaily, collecting one family after another, until a dull accountant at his publishing house decides it's time for him to toe the line. With a cigarette permanently dangling from his lip, Santiago Segura, best known as the director and star of the successful saga TORRENTE, plays the artist as a compulsive bigamist and con man who steals from one wife to give to another. Nominated, Best Supporting Actor, 2011 Goya Awards; Official Selection, 2010 San Sebastian and Mar del Plata Film Festivals. (Courtesy of the Festival of New Spanish Cinema)
