The sophomore film from director Martin P. Zandvliet (APPLAUSE, 2010 AFI European Union Film Showcase) examines the life behind the laughs of Denmark's massively popular comedian Dirch Passer (Nikolaj Lie Kaas). Beginning his career in the late 1950s as a duo act with his best friend, Kjeld Petersen (Lars Ranthe), the two gallivant around Copenhagen downing whiskey and seducing women. When Kjeld's drinking problem gets out of control, Dirch pursues a solo career to even greater success. From his hilarious routines to his struggle to be taken seriously as an actor, Kaas brings not only the requisite humor but also heart to this legendary performer.
