THE WATER AT THE END OF THE WORLD [El Agua del Fin del Mundo]
Sisters Adri and Laura live in a cramped apartment in a poor neighborhood of Buenos Aires. When Adri, who suffers from a terminal illness, is given just a few months left to live, her last wish is to spend her remaining days at the southernmost point of South America. Laura saves every penny from her meager salary to make the trip a reality, but when a mysterious alcoholic accordionist becomes romantically involved with both sisters, their trip is put into jeopardy. As the sisters, Guadalupe Docampo and Diana Lamas give powerful performances, avoiding easy melodrama and delivering real emotional panache in Paula Siero's remarkable feature-film debut.
