El Salvador

THE TINIEST PLACE [El Lugar Más Pequeño]

Cinquera, a small town set between the majestic mountains and lush jungles of El Salvador, slowly begins to rebuild itself after the tragedies of the 12-year civil war, which left thousands dead and wiped the town off the map. Poetically weaving past and present with tales of life and death, Tantiana Huezo's impressive documentary debut finds beauty in both quotidian details and complicated stories of human resilience. Audio testimonies from Cinquera's residents give life to the gorgeous cinematography. A tribute to the perseverance of the Salvadoran people. Official Selection, 2011 Guadalajara, Los Angeles and San Francisco Film Festivals.
