Santiago, 1973: Allende supporters demonstrate in the streets as General Pinochet's forces escalate their aggression, but apolitical morgue worker Mario doesn't notice — he only has eyes for his neighbor, lazy showgirl Nancy. As Chilean society descends into surreal depravity in the final stages of Pinochet's bloody coup and increasingly brutalized bodies begin to stack up in his workplace, Mario bears mute witness to the incriminatory acts taking place around him. When Nancy comes to Mario for help, his personal disappointment and the climate of political turmoil collide.
