THE LAST COMMANDANT
[El Último Comandante]

In a Costa Rican border town, a middle-aged dance instructor who specializes in cha-cha-chá struggles to make ends meet. Nearly broke and his prospects dried up, he ventures into Nicaragua, where 30 years ago he lived a very different life as Sandinista commander Paco Jarquín, who went missing in action. As he visits his old haunts and meets up with some of his fellow soldiers, the past comes flooding back in surprising ways. Mexican actor Damian Alcázar (THE CRIME OF PADRE AMARO) gives a charismatic performance as the enigmatic Jarquín.
