VENEZUELA
STORY OF A DAY [Historia de un dia]

Documentarian Rosana Matecki turns ethnography into pure poetry in her debut feature, an enthralling exploration of the rhythms of daily life in a Venezuelan farming village. Without forcing a narrative, Matecki trains her camera on the chores, parties, feasts and rites that occur throughout the day, becoming fully immersed in the life of the community and offering an invaluable glimpse into a foreign world. Boasting stunning cinematography and a remarkable soundtrack of ambient sound and traditional music, this film is a triumph of observational documentary.
