ARGENTINA
BROTHER & SISTER [Dos hermanos]

The love-hate relationship of two sixty-something siblings is mined for both cringe-inducing comedy and heartwarming family drama in the latest from festival stalwart Daniel Burman. When their mother falls ill and dies, diva-ish Susana (Graciela Borges) and buttoned-down Marcos (Antonio Gasalla) are thrown back into each other's lives after a long period of separation. With their inheritance money, they go in together on a shabby Uruguayan estate, and Marcos makes a new friend in local theater director Mario (Omar Nunez), who drafts him into his production of Oedipus Rex. In need of her brother's attentions, the jealous Susana goes into meddlesome overdrive. Official Selection, 2010 Karlovy Vary Film Festival.
