Marjane Satrapi brings her bestselling graphic novel to the big screen, co-directed with fellow comic-creator-turned-filmmaker Vincent Paronnaud. Satrapi's signature pen-and-ink illustrations come to life in this animated adaptation of her family memoir about life before and after Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution. The film, which closed the New York Film Festival, features outstanding voice talent from Catherine Deneuve, Danielle Darrieux, and Chiara Mastroianni.
