Guillermo del Toro served as a hands-on executive producer on this accomplished and mysterious feature centered on an abandoned orphanage. A former resident returns with her husband and son, but the child begins playing with a group of children who may or may not be real. Flawless performances and talented debut direction by Bayona make for a creepy and atmospheric tale.
