THE SECRET LIFE OF WORDS [La Vida Secreta de las Palabras]
Winner of four Goyas, including Best Film, Director and Screenplay for Isabel Coixet. Travelling nurse Sarah Polley heads out to an oilrig off the coast of Northern Ireland to treat Tim Robbins, burned and temporarily blinded after trying to save a co-worker. The two strike up a friendship, the storytelling Robbins doing most of the talking and the tight-lipped Polley the listening. But mysteries about Polley's past begin to accumulate, leading to a cataclysmic revelation. Bravura acting from Polley and Robbins, with strong support from Javier Cámara (as the rig's unappreciated gourmet cook), Leonor Watling and Julie Christie.
