After philosophy professor Tim Boerhave (Victor Löw) loses his legs in a bomb attack, he retreats to a remote seaside resort with his family. As he obsessively tries to understand the attack through images, symbols, and philosophical references, his wife also struggles with this unexpected change as denizens of the island including a past love and a boy genius offer advice. A surrealist psychological drama based on the novel by Polish author, Stefan Themerson.
