A futuristic love story about forbidden romance. Set in an eerily familiar near future, where cities are heavily controlled and are only accessible through checkpoints. Travel is forbidden without papelles, special travel insurance docuemnts. Tim Robbins, a family man and insurance bureaucrat, is sent to investigate a case of fake papelles; but instead he falls for the forger, Samantha Morton. After a brief, passionate affair, Robbins seeks to visit Morton again, but when is refused travel documents he risks everything by trying to use the forgeries.
