1959 180 MIN 35MM
DIR George Stevens SCR Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett CAST Millie Perkins, Joseph Schildkraut, Shelley Winters, Richard Beymer, Gusti Huber, Lou Jacobi, Diane Baker, Douglas Spencer, Dodie Heath, Ed Wynn
Originally released in 1959, nominated for eight Oscars® and winning three, THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK remains one of cinema's most astounding and enduring treasures. Following the Nazi invasion of Amsterdam, 13-year-old Anne and her family go into hiding in the confines of an attic. Anne's remarkable account of their lives, their growing fear of discovery, their deplorable living conditions and even the blooming of her first love are intimately portrayed in this extraordinary portrait of humanity.
To mark the 50th Anniversary, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has worked closely with George Stevens, Jr., to share the cinematic legacy of his father's remarkable film.

A conversation and Q&A with George Stevens, Jr., Millie Perkins and Diane Baker will precede the screening of the film.
GEORGE STEVENS, JR.
George Stevens, Jr., has achieved an extraordinary creative legacy over a career spanning nearly 50 years. As a distinguished writer, director, producer, playwright and author, he has enriched the film and television arts and is widely credited with bringing style and taste to the national events he has conceived, including THE KENNEDY CENTER HONORS, which took place for the 31st time in December 2008.
Stevens co-created the HONORS in 1978 with Nick Vanoff, for the first time giving America a form of recognition for performing arts excellence. Now co-producing the HONORS with his son, Michael Stevens, the event is seen each year on CBS and has helped redefine America's perception of its artistic legacy.
Stevens has earned many accolades, including 11 Emmys, two Peabody Awards for Meritorious Service to Broadcasting and eight awards from the Writers Guild of America. As writer, director and co-producer of 1990's SEPARATE BUT EQUAL, starring Sidney Poitier, he earned an Emmy for Outstanding Mini-Series, the Christopher Award and the Writers Guild of America's Paul Selvin Award, for writing that embodies civil rights and liberties. Stevens also received two Emmys for the 1994 documentary GEORGE STEVENS: D-DAY TO BERLIN, which depicted the wartime experiences of his father--one of the most highly regarded directors of all time.
Stevens was Founding Director of the American Film Institute and during his tenure, more than 10,000 irreplaceable American films were preserved and catalogued for future generations. In addition, he established the AFI's Center for Advanced Film Studies, now the AFI Conservatory, which gained a reputation as the finest learning opportunity for young filmmakers.
In 2006, Alfred A. Knopf published Stevens's Conversations with the Great Moviemakers of Hollywood's Golden Age--the first book to bring together the interviews of master moviemakers from the AFI's renowned Harold Lloyd Master Seminar series.
Stevens was the executive producer of WE ARE ONE: THE OBAMA INAUGURAL EVENT FROM THE LINCOLN MEMORIAL, which premiered on HBO on January 18, 2009.
