What is a festival press pass?
A press pass allows the holder access to the newsroom and regular screenings (non-galas), panels and official festival venues without a hard ticket, on a space-available basis.

How do I cover red carpet arrivals?
All press that wish to be on the red carpet at galas must be specifically approved to do so, regardless of whether they have a festival press pass. A hard ticket is not required to cover red carpet arrivals. Each gala is accredited separately. To request space on red carpets, email festpublicity@AFI.com.

How can I watch a gala, tribute, or special screening?
Space is limited for these events and hard tickets are required. Email festpublicity@AFI.com to request a ticket to these events.

Can I use my press pass to bring a guest to a screening?
No. Guests should reserve tickets online or gain admission to theaters through the Rush Line.

How much does a press pass cost?
There is no charge.

Where do I park?
Hollywood & Highland Parking Garage, 6801 Hollywood Blvd. $2 for up to 4 hours with restaurant or shopping validation; $10 all-day max.

Will photos be needed for press passes?
No. However, you must present a government accepted photo ID when picking up your credentials.

When and where can I pick up my press pass?
Details will be in your acceptance email.

Does a press pass include access to the American Film Market?
No. That event is handled separately by the American Film Market.

Will press have mailboxes during the festival?
No.

Where can I conduct interviews during the festival?
Accredited press members will have access to limited interview space in the newsroom. To request interview space, email festpublicity@AFI.com.

How do I request interviews with filmmakers?

How do I get images from films in the festival?
AFI FEST images, filmmaker photos, screenwriter photos and film stills will be posted online for media access only at flickr.com. For additional images of filmmakers or film stills, media should contact the filmmaker, studio, distributor or film publicist.
