AFI FEST 2008 presented by Audi
FILM SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

• Premiere status is taken into account for all sections, and films that have not yet screened in the US are given priority.

• To be eligible for the International Feature Competition, the film must be a US premiere made by a first- or second-time filmmaker.

• Feature films (both narrative and documentary) that have previously screened for the public in Los Angeles or have been televised in the Los Angeles area are not eligible for consideration.

• Short films that have previously screened for the public in Los Angeles will be considered but are unlikely to be selected. Los Angeles premiere status is very important for short film selection.

• 1/2" VHS (NTSC or PAL) videocassettes or DVDs are accepted for preview screening.

• Preview videocassettes and DVDs must be labeled clearly with the title, running time and contact information (including name, address and phone number).

• More than one entry may be submitted. Each entry must be accompanied by an official entry form and entry fee.

• Please do not send submissions in fiber-filled envelopes, as the dust damages tapes and VCRs.

• If your film is selected, you will be asked to provide headshot and filmography of director; b&w and/or color stills from the film; press materials; and video trailer (if available).

• The entry fee is non-refundable. Acceptable forms of payment include credit card, cash, check or money order (payable in US dollars). Make checks payable to AFI FEST. Online payment is preferred. We cannot accept bank transfers.

• Videocassettes and DVDs and other submitted materials will not be returned. Please do not send film prints, master tapes or other originals.

• If you want confirmation that your entry has been received by AFI FEST, please include a self-addressed stamped postcard.

• All film entries selected for the Festival grant AFI FEST the rights to use footage, stills and/or titles and information from the film for promotional purposes.

• All films submitted must be free from any legal disputes and the filmmaker must have cleared all rights for music and exhibition.

• The filmmaker agrees to deliver the print to the festival no later than October 17, 2008.

• All filmmakers will be notified of acceptance by October 3, 2008.
