PRESS ACCREDITATION REQUIREMENTS

AFI FEST 2006 presented by Audi invites members of the press to experience one of the greatest celebrations of international cinema in the world! Here's how:

RETURNING JOURNALISTS
If you were an accredited press member at AFI FEST 2005, please submit your coverage from AFI FEST 2005, as well as current contact information, to festpublicity@AFI.com or fax to 323.962.3758 to be considered for accreditation in 2006.

NEW APPLICANTS
If you are a new applicant, please fill out the AFI FEST 2006 Press Accreditation Request Form. Press Accreditation requests must be submitted by Friday, October 13.

• Or download a PDF version of the application here. If you are filling out your application by hand, please include a copy of your business card, if possible. You can return your completed application via fax to 323.962.3758.

After receiving your application, the Press Office will register your name, affiliation and other pertinent information. We will then review your request. Your submission will be reviewed and you will be notified, via e-mail, on the status of your request. If your application is approved, details will be sent to you stating how and where to pick up your pass. One applicant per request form, please.

Please submit the following with your request form:

1. Recent coverage of a film festival or a film-related story, film review or arts/entertainment story written or produced by you.
2. If you are a freelance journalist, please accompany our form with a letter of commitment on company letterhead from the assignment editor.

RED CARPETS
In order to cover red carpet arrivals at AFI FEST 2006, e-mail your request to festpublicity@AFI.com. Please state whether you are a still photographer or with a broadcast outlet, and whether you have covered AFI screenings and events in the past. Also include your outlet information and the size of your crew in your request. Each event will be credentialed separately. We will do our best to accommodate your request.

INTEREST IN THE 2006 AMERICAN FILM MARKET (AFM)
The process described above is for AFI FEST 2006 press credentials only. If you are interested in covering the AFM, please contact them at www.americanfilmmarket.com for accreditation procedures. The AFM runs November 1-8, 2006.

Festival Material and Images

For festival materials and images please go to image.net. If you are not registered to image.net see the instructions below.

There is no charge to the media to download images or press information from image.net, however you must be registered.

1. Go to http://www.image.net and click on "register."
2. Fill in the registration form (this will take less than two minutes).
3. When asked for a referral code, enter 6560.
