The world premiere of THE DEAD GIRL screened November 7 at AFI FEST 2006 presented by Audi.

Arriving for the screening at ArcLight Hollywood and reception at the AFI FEST Rooftop Village were:

  • Writer-director Karen Moncrieff (and her daughter, Ruby)
  • Actress Mary Beth Hurt
  • Actress Kerry Washington
  • Actress Marcia Gay Harden
  • Actress Brittany Murphy
  • Actor Nick Searcy
  • Actor David Moscow
  • Actor Bruce Davison

THE DEAD GIRL is a psychological mystery about unrelated people converging over the murder of a young woman (played by Brittany Murphy).

As with her 2002 film, BLUE CAR, writer-director Karen Moncrieff creates multidimensional portraits of characters as they seesaw emotionally through a tangle of conflicting desires and fears.

The all-star cast also includes Josh Brolin, Rose Byrne, Toni Collette, James Franco, Mary Steenburgen and Piper Laurie.

THE DEAD GIRL will be released in theaters in January by Lakeshore Entertainment and First Look Pictures.
