A Look Back: AFI FEST 1971
Cybill Shepherd in THE LAST PICTURE SHOW, the Peter Bogdanovich film that made its world premiere as the first film at the first FILMEX. AFI FEST 2006 presented by Audi celebrates 20 years and honors FILMEX: Los Angeles Film Exposition, founded in 1971, at its peak the largest public film event in the world. Related events include the 24 Hour Movie Marathon (starting November 11, Noon) - which includes a screening of THE LAST PICTURE SHOW - and Bogdanovich in person, performing his one-man show, "Sacred Monsters" (November 9, 7:00 PM).
