Elephants arrive for the 1975 edition of FILMEX: Los Angeles Film Exposition. It wasn't the first time pachyderms had greeted FILMEX guests. Tom Pollock, former chairman of the FILMEX board of trustees, told the Los Angeles Times, "FILMEX was a different kind of festival. You wouldn't see elephants at Sundance." AFI FEST 2006 presented by Audi celebrates 20 years and honors FILMEX as its Los Angeles precursor.
