Stella Artois Toasts AFI FEST 2006

Stella Artois returns to Hollywood as official beer sponsor of AFI FEST 2006 presented by Audi, bringing the Belgian beer experience to thousands of film lovers.

Throughout AFI FEST, Stella Artois will be served at more than 70 events, including the Opening Night Gala for the US premiere of BOBBY, the Filmmaker Reception, and all official events in The LOFT at the AFI FEST Rooftop Village.

Stella Artois is committed to filmmaking excellence and film enthusiasts around the world, sponsoring some of the other finest film events including the Cannes and Sundance film festivals.

"Stella Artois wants to extend the red carpet to the legion of filmmakers, industry reps and fans that make AFI FEST such an amazing showcase," says Frank Polley, marketing director of European brands, InBev USA.

With a brewing heritage dating back to 1366 in Leuven, Belgium, Stella Artois is the classic European lager and the best-selling Belgian beer in the world. First brewed by the Artois brewery as a Christmas beer, it was named Stella ("star" in Latin) because of its exceptional clarity.

Today, the brewers of Stella Artois, working less than 100 yards from the original brewery site, use the finest malt from the best selection of barley from Belgium, France, the Netherlands and Australia. A blend of European hops is used with noticeable influence of the famous Bohemian "Saaz" hop aroma in the finish. The result is a full-flavored beer with golden clarity.
