Choosing from over 100 movies may seem a bit daunting at first, but with these helpful tips under your belt you can glide through the Festival like a pro.

• Buy Early - Many films will be listed as "Door Sales" before you know it. Phone lines will be open to the general public beginning October 14.

• Know Your Movies - AFI FEST will show more than 160 films, and quite a few of those will be premieres. The Box Office attendants and operators will be familiar with the films in the program, but itÕs best to do a little research first as well. Visit our online Film Guide, which allows you to search by director, country or interest group, or peruse the Quick Guide and order your tickets after youÕve mapped out your selections.

• Know Your Codes - All ticketed events are assigned a five-letter code, which appears with scheduled times. Have these codes ready for Box Office operators to ensure fast and accurate ticket processing.

• Have Backup Choices - By mapping out optional movie and time selections beforehand, youÕre sure to have a Plan B in case your first choice appears as "Door Sales." You may even end up liking your alternate choice more than the original.

• Pick Up Your Tickets Early - Avoid the long lines during the FEST by picking up your online or phone order tickets in advance at the Walk-Up Box Office Will Call desk which will be open beginning October 28.

• Arrive Early - AFI FEST offers passes and ÒDoor SalesÓ admission tickets in addition to regular screenings tickets, so you MUST be seated at least 15 minutes prior to your event start time to guarantee admission.

• Never Say "Sold Out" - Even if you cannot purchase tickets prior to the Festival, donÕt give up--just think "Door Sales." Starting 15 minutes prior to a film scheduled start time, we admit those without tickets from the "Door Sales" line (see above) until the theater is at capacity.

• Consider a Pass - Consider a pass, which gets you a greater level of access and lets you bypass the regular ticketing process. Best of all, you can buy one right now!
