I knew the town's centennial would bring many former residents back to Superior. Most people fly over America's heartland and think that nothing is there. I wanted to present an accurate picture of family farming and life in a small American town. Here was an opportunity to give a face to the impending doom of the lifestyle upon which this country was founded. I could document it in action before it disappeared. High summer reveals the full flowering of mid-America's serene beauty.
