How Free Ticketing Works:
You can order a maximum of 20 tickets across the seven days of scheduled films. There is a two ticket limit for each evening red carpet gala. Tickets can be ordered online, by phone at 1-866-AFI-FEST, or in person at the Festival Will Call desk in the Hollywood and Highland Center's Mann Chinese 6 Theatre main lobby on the third level.
The process for ordering tickets on the Web is easy -- just complete the onscreen order form and pick up your tickets at the Will Call desk. Online and phone orders begin on October 16. All tickets are available for pickup at Will Call starting on October 26.
Free seats to same-day screenings will also be available. Check the Will Call desk or go directly to the Rush Line one hour before the screening.
AFI FEST Patron Passes Available Now!:
Reserved seating can be secured by becoming a patron of the Festival and purchasing an AFI FEST Patron Pass, available now online or by phone. 2009 TICKET POLICIES
TICKETS TO GALA EVENTS
Your Gala tickets are only available for pick up on the night of the event. Tickets can be picked up at the Gala Will Call located on Hollywood Blvd. just east of Grauman's Chinese Theatre. Will Call will open 90 min. prior to the screening start time. A photo ID is required to pick up tickets. All guests must be in their seats 20 min. prior to start time or seats will be released.
TICKETS TO REGULAR SCREENINGS
Your tickets to regular screenings are available for pick up at the AFI FEST Will Call desk in the Mann Chinese 6 main lobby in the Hollywood and Highland Center (third level) starting October 26. Avoid long lines and pick up your tickets to regular screenings in advance. Will Call will open 90 min. prior to the screening start time. A photo ID is required to pick up tickets. All guests must be in their seats 20 min. prior to start time or seats will be released.
SAME-DAY TICKETS
FREE tickets cannot be reserved over the phone or online for same-day screenings. Same-day FREE tickets are available exclusively at the AFI FEST Box Office, contingent on availability. Come to the Will Call desk in the Mann Chinese 6 main lobby to inquire.
RUSH LINE TICKETS
The Rush Line is an AFI FEST tradition, and each year hundreds of Festival-goers see popular films without advance tickets. Available FREE tickets are distributed to this line on a first-come, first-serve basis, after the advance ticketing closes. Just go to the Box Office one hour before the scheduled screening time to be directed to the Rush Line.
THE FINE PRINT
- Hard tickets or passes are required to attend all screenings.
- Hard tickets are required to attend all Galas.
- Seating is only guaranteed until 15 minutes before screening time. No late seating.
- All programs, Festival filmmakers and special guests are subject to change without notice.
- Film length, as listed in the program, represents the best available information at press time. Length of film does not include introductions or Q&A sessions after the screening.
- Cameras, camera phones and recording devices are not permitted in the theater. Please silence all cellular phones and pagers when in the theater.
PLEASE NOTE: You must be in your seat 15 minutes before scheduled screening time. After this time, the remaining seats will be given to the Rush Line.

Reserve your FREE tickets to AFI FEST 2009 Regular Screenings and Galas beginning Friday, October 16, online or by phone. Beginning October 26, reservations can be made in person at the Box Office.
FREE ticket orders are limited to 20 tickets per customer; Each Gala has a limit of 2 tickets per customer.
Reserved FREE tickets can be picked up in person at the AFI FEST Box Office in the Mann Chinese 6 main lobby starting at noon on October 26.
