AFI FEST 2007 Global Responsibility Initiatives

AFI FEST is committed to reducing our environmental footprint and keeping the issue of global warming at the forefront of discussion. AFI FEST will engage in practices that promote a cleaner planet and a better future.

• AFI FEST Grove of Trees for Hollywood - AFI FEST and the Hollywood/Los Angeles Beautification Team (HBT) are partnering for the Million Trees LA project to bring more green to our neighborhood.
  To celebrate AFI FEST's 21st year, our goal is to raise funds to purchase a grove of 21 trees to be planted in the Hollywood area.
  
  Why trees? Because it's our responsibility to offset our carbon footprints, and trees remove air pollutants, capture gallons of storm water (decreasing pollution runoff and soil erosion), reduce home cooling costs, increase property value and absorb noise - they are the gift that keeps on giving.

• Green With Envy is an eco-conscious promotions and gift business specializing in green luxury fashion. Representing the most talented and innovated eco-conscious artists and manufacturers from all over the world, Green With Envy will be offering AFI Music Documentary and AFI FEST messenger bags and totes made from recycled banners. • AFI FEST Waste and Composting Initiative - AFI FEST is partnering with Global Resources to recycle and compost AFI FEST waste in the AFI FEST Village. Look for the AFI FEST recycle containers located throughout the Village.

• Million Trees LA is a cooperative effort between the City of Los Angeles, community groups, businesses, and individuals working together to plant and provide long-term stewardship of one million trees planted where they're needed most.
