Farmers Insurance

Farmers Insurance is a prominent sponsor of AFI with its emphasis on cultural diversity. "We are proud to be a part of the film festival," says the company's Vice President of Diversity and Emerging Markets Luisa Acosta-Franco. Farmers Insurance has been a part of diverse festivals, including the Latino Film Festival, which ran October 7-14.

Farmers Insurance's spokesman, Edward James Olmos has been the company's spokesman since 2006 and feels strongly with the company for its involvement with community, according to Ms. Acosta-Franco. Farmers Insurance also holds a nationwide student competition involving photography of Latino life for cash scholarships worth up to $1000.

Farmers Insurance involvement with AFI as a leading sponsor is meaningful as the festival represents diversity in the arts. Insurance companies are there to help people, Acosta-Franco says, as Farmers Insurance focuses on "the importance of home, life and auto to protect you." The need to serve the community is why Acosta-Franco feels so happy to be a part of AFI.
