The Age of Innocence (1993)

In the mannered society of late 19th century New York, Newland Archer, a respectable young lawyer, has chosen prim and proper May Welland to be his wife. When May's cousin Ellen Olenska returns from Europe, estranged from her Polish aristocrat husband and banished from New York society, Newland falls madly in love with the sophisticated and unconventional woman. Newland must choose between playing it safe and staying with May or risking banishment from society for a life with the person he truly loves.
