| Description |
“Players” is a documentary co-produced by MTV, EA Games, and Mekanism. The film focuses on the world of hardcore gaming and the social diversity of the gamers themselves. As the producers were conceptualizing the film they realized that their core audience would also be a very much tech savvy demographic. The mentor team put together by the AFI Digital Content Lab created a sleek environment where users could both extend and customize their experiences by sharing clips, joining “clans,” creating video tag clouds, exchanging news and uploading their personal information – all within the scope of the film. Outside the reach of the film, users could also transplant their profile information and preferences on to other social networks like MySpace and Facebook. |
