TV411 (The Adult Literacy Media Alliance/PBS)
Alex Quinn, Lora Myers, Tamar Kupiec

Primary Platform: OCAP™ (OpenCable™ Applications Platform)-Enabled Set-Top Box

Production Goal: The enhanced TV411 prototype is built around a show segment on "perimeter." Enhanced TV411 features multiple options for different modes of learning, and the participatory experience requires viewers to make decisions about how they learn. For those who need more explanation, a "Learn About Perimeter" section offers additional training. Clarifying features are available to viewers in "Quiz Yourself" and "Play With Perimeter." The eTV menu includes supplementary math lessons and a final reinforcement option to sign up for additional TV411 content on their mobile handsets.

This prototype is authored with NPTV's iTV Factory suite of products, allowing the creation of interactive applications for MHP/OCAP. This application runs on a Thomson set-top box with hardware provided by NDS France.
