THIS FAR BY FAITH is Blackside's major new six-hour television series and civic education outreach initiative. This landmark media project explores the connection between faith communities and the development of African-American cultural values and practices. Moreover THIS FAR BY FAITH celebrates the role of religion in addressing the social, political, economic, and educational ideas central to American society - the development of citizens, the creation of leaders, the formation of communities, and the political empowerment of people.

Film producer Blackside and convergent media creators Experiant, InventMedia, and Pittard Sullivan have teamed up to develop an enhanced television experience that promises to spark meaningful and ongoing real-life interactions. By navigating interactive timelines, viewing video profiles, considering multiple perspectives, and questioning the course of human history, viewers are challenged to reinterpret the impact of African-American culture and religion on their lives today. We are leveraging emerging technology to encourage our viewers, online and in their communities, to become more versed in the universally valued skills of critical thinking, cooperative learning, and meaningful discourse.
