DAY ONE — Granada Television — Bill Hamm
Production Team: Pillar Squared, Granada Television, ExtendMedia, Showtime, Atomic Tangerine, Swankytown, Georgia Tech and RespondTV.

DAY ONE is a pilot for a big budget special effects science fiction series based on a successful Granada TV show in the UK and produced in the US in conjunction with Regency TV. Developed by Michael and Shawn Piller ("Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" and "Star Trek: Voyager"), DAY ONE takes place 50 years in the future after a comet collided with the Earth. Our series follows a disparate group of travelers as they seek out surviving communities all the while rebuilding a new society of their own.

With the guidance of Extend Media, Atomic Tangerine, Showtime Networks, Swankytown and Dr. Janet Murray, the enhanced prototype explores the real-time viewing experience across a set top box platform to see what can be done to support and illuminate narrative storytelling. We have chosen to explore the entire viewing process beginning with supplementation of the narrative story (scientific dashboard, character bioscapes) up to and including the commercial breaks. Instead of channel surfing, what if additional story lines or even role-playing games were featured parallel with the commercials for the enhanced viewers only?

The prime time sci-fi audience is young, loyal, technologically proficient and hungry for moreÉand that is where enhanced television opportunity awaits.
